Description

Black Shrink Wrap (also known as black stretch film) is a flexible LLDPE pallet wrap designed for securing goods during storage and transport. Technically, it’s a stretch film (pallet wrap) that stretches tightly around a load and holds it together. Our 500mm x 260m roll, at 20 μm thickness, offers a heavy-duty stretch film solution: tough enough for warehouse use yet conformable to irregular shapes.

FAQs

Is “Black Shrink Wrap” the same as stretch film — and which is this product?
No — they’re often confused. This 3REE LABELS product is stretch film (pallet wrap) that adheres to itself when stretched and is applied by hand or machine; true “shrink wrap” requires heat to shrink a film around an object. Use the 3REE stretch film when you want tensioned load containment rather than heat-shrinking.
FAQ title
20 μm is a heavy-duty pallet-grade thickness suitable for medium–heavy loads (e.g., boxed goods, electronics, furniture components). It’s typically recommended where stronger puncture and tear resistance is needed compared with 15–17 μm films; for very heavy or sharp-edged loads you might pick 25 μm or higher. Final choice depends on pallet weight, load stability, and whether you use machine pre-stretch.
FAQ title
Yes — the black pigment provides full opacity for concealment and added security (hiding SKU and preventing casual theft). Most black pallet films are also UV-stabilized, offering better resistance to sunlight and weather than clear film, so they are suitable for short-term outdoor storage and protecting wrapped goods from dust and rain.
Will this roll work with my pallet-wrapping machine and hand dispensers? What core size?
Yes — 500 mm width on a standard 50 mm core is industry standard and fits most hand dispensers and turntable/arm pallet wrappers. The film will perform in both manual and machine applications; machine pre-stretch increases effective yield and load holding. Check your machine’s maximum roll width and core diameter before ordering.
Is 3REE’s black stretch film recyclable and compliant with UK packaging standards?
The film is made from polyethylene (LLDPE) and is recyclable through LDPE recycling streams where facilities accept film. Many UK suppliers also offer specification sheets showing grades and recycled content; check the 3REE product page or technical datasheet for exact recyclability and certificates. For regulated or food-contact use, always confirm the product’s certified suitability.
How many rolls / how much film will I need per pallet (approx.)?
That depends on wrap style, tension, and load height. As a rough guide: with standard hand-wrapping and moderate tension you might use 1–2 rolls per typical 1.2–1.8 m high pallet; with machine pre-stretch (higher tension) you can often cover more pallets per roll. Factors that increase usage: irregular shapes, very tall pallets, extra security wraps, or heavy loads requiring multiple top/bottom bands. For accurate planning, calculate by test-wrapping one representative pallet and measuring roll usage.
